I guess if u take time to get it down it would be great but I didnt. I sold mine and went back to the older style on the side of reel. The one time I did use it it worked beautiful in all other factors. I personally dont like the middle release. Thats just me I have some friends that love it. Thanks

I Almost never have a backlash and I cast it constantly. The reel is used for Muskie fishing and I cast everything from a light Bucktails to Heavy crank baits. I love this reel and I am considering on buying a second to have as a spare.
